Opening the book…
Silence about a problem you cannot solve is not stoicism, it is a decision to let the problem grow on someone else's time. Early asks are cheap and can be answered in ten minutes; late asks are rescues. Asking by name also removes the diffusion where a general plea into a group chat gets picked up by nobody.
When you have been stuck for a defined period — an hour, a day, whatever fits the work — say so directly to a specific person: what you are trying to do, what you have tried, what you need from them. Give them the option to say no. Then do the same when someone asks you, so that asking stays normal in both directions.
If you have not yet made a serious attempt, asking is outsourcing rather than collaborating, and it wears out the people you rely on. And with someone visibly overloaded, ask elsewhere first before adding to their pile.
