Opening the book…
Carrying an error into the following moment doubles it, and the second one is always yours alone. Anyone who performs under pressure repeatedly needs a way to reset in seconds rather than days. Rumination feels like accountability but is usually just fear wearing a serious face.
Build a physical reset — a breath, a stance, a phrase you say to yourself — and use it the same way every time so it works when your hands are shaking. Handle the mistake properly later: review it, log it, fix the cause. In the moment, the only job is the next play.
If the mistake is still live — someone is at risk, the damage is compounding — stop and deal with it before anything else. And errors that reveal a pattern deserve a real post-mortem later, not just a reset.
